I need to take a few days off soon. This habit of immediately jumping on here to code right after work on Fridays until almost 0400 is ridiculous.

Curious about my works-in-progress (I try to keep everything up-to-date, but I oftentimes just post my works in Discord first), or do you have a bug to report but don't feel like contacting mythodreas@mythodres.com? Why not pop into our Discord server!

Been working on this one for a few days. Kind of thought how cool it would be to have Mythodreas's design reflect Samhain, but I need to talk with the Muses (Artists) for that. Anyways!

(BETA v0.5.8 Addendum)

New Features and Enhancements
  • Nameless Fountain: Because Explore is currently restricted, this is accessible from the Help navigation. Fountain must now be "looked for" and on occasion it can give drink items.
  • Scriptorium: Located in Mythodreas navigation. Displays obtained site lore and book items in satchel that have readable content.
  • Satchel: Pagination issue resolved, pagination filtering redesigned, sorting options provided.
  • Items for multi-use: Additional types of edible items that span across multiple categories have been created; however, majority of them are "Sacred" and can only be obtained during certain events or content.
  • Origin of Mythodreas: Lore has been rewritten.
  • Interact: Buttons not yet ready have been removed from display. A friendlier user message for when there are no items in that category implemented. "Groom" added as an action. Height of item grid increased, and additional "Give to..." button provided at the top of the grid to prevent having to scroll all the way to the bottom.
  • Grooming: New market generated to support selling of grooming items. It is now possible to groom a familiar.


Works-in-Progress
  • World Map: Complete overhaul of areas and content. This includes art, where possible, and support for clickable map areas. This endeavor will take me a bit to iron out but so far all countries have been mapped and given placeholder art to some degree (I need to find a landscape/map artist eventually). Majority of areas have been given lore or a foundation for lore. Dreas and T'enelm are almost done.
  • Sacred Items: specialized items to increase stats other than care stats, change gender and change appearance of familiar (not all colors/forms are available for familiars)


Other Works-in-Progress that I work on but am taking a breather from
  • Colosseum: Skill implementation and some semblance of opponent personality. Equipment/Armory to affect stats, which will encourage opponents to also pick up equipment.
  • Shelter: Ability to adopt or abandon familiars.
  • Junkyard: Ability to sell most items in Satchel to a NPC.
  • Satchel: No more grouping of items as the uses is causing too much confusion and complexity when stacked.

(BETA v0.5.8 Addendum)
  • Enforced contribution of items to only be for items collected from Inis Isle between event's start and end date.
  • Apply new design to Samhain.
  • Set up majority of Samhain associated items with care stats so they can actually be useful.
  • Set up a better timer/cooldown when Inis Isle has been visited. Cooldown is live and is more visually appealing. Uses preset time zone that you have set in Account Settings.
  • Changed hidden tagline, avatar, and item logic to be more consistent on its randomization.
  • Adjusted clickable areas on map, applied hover tooltip and design selection, and added better accessibility options for devices that do not support image clicking. Clickable areas changes from pixel coordinates to percentages due to issues with screen resolutions.
  • Added Bat Token collection for a later date.
  • Removed old logic that needlessly checked for account duplication.
  • Made finding of user's team easier by providing additional details such as the name of the current event and the user's team's mascot instead of the team's number (i.e. Harbinga is team number 1).
  • Added more statistics to support users who are competitive, users who are curious, and for myself to ensure that everything is working as expected.
  • Updated Holiday Event system to where it will correctly activate holidays without Alchemist intervention.
  • Added Torcull NPC to character list, and updated lore for Samhain.
  • Adjusted behavior and display for when user selects an area on map. Adjustments such as pop up with randomized text based upon clicked area.


Planning to add more items and bring back Scavenger Hunt along with the Crow Riddles.

  • Profile design updated to include thread activity. This can be disabled from view in your profile settings.
  • Avatar dimensions adjusted to assist in preventing custom avatars from appearing too squished.
  • Energy restoration tweaked during subsequent observations while Colosseum is in use.
  • Symposium (forums) page released ([BETA] Community -> [BETA] Symposium Forums), along with forum creation, modification, review, and deletion (Guides only).
  • QuillJS fully implemented to allow Emoji rendering, mentions of users, and specific HTML markups.
  • Notifications system, as well as the Follow Forum Manager, integrated to assist in notifying when threads see activity or when someone mentions you.
  • Post history revealed to allow a user to see all their posts and threads in one area (called My Content).
  • Character/word count for posts and threads applied.
  • Rules for forum has been overhauled and updated.
  • Infantile approach to quoting a post has been implemented (can only quote within thread).
  • Reply button will redirect user to the post creator.
  • Redirection capability implemented to allow easy url referencing to a thread without needing to know about the page number.
  • Online activity settings will be used in forums (this can be set in your profile settings).
  • Ability to edit threads and posts that you have created has been implemented.
  • The ability to lock, pin/sticky, or close a thread is available to a Guide.

(BETA v0.5.7; 2025-08-01 - 2025-08-18)
  • Energy will now cycle between 0 to 10 instead of 1 to 10 in Colosseum. Additionally, energy restoration has been adjusted to where familiars' energies will regenerate even while you are offline.
  • Bug where blessings could "wake" your familiar out of resting has been resolved.
  • Colosseum's Gladiator Opponents, such as Hyss, have received adjusted stats based off observation of Gladiator Rankings.
  • Elemental Bet Luck Game will now implement a set minimum and maximum to bet.
  • Pence cap has been set to 999,999,999 Pence. If your account or bank account exceeds this amount, no worries! You just will not be able to gain additional Pence in Games.
  • Games will now display a warning if you are close to or have exceeded the Pence limit.
  • PC Only: notification and message icon will slightly scale up if you hover over them.
  • Bank account and wallet will now display Gladius Coins (GC). A way to make use of GC will be available once the Gladius Shop and Armory are finished
  • Cards in Colosseum have been adjusted design-wise for Fire Fox browsers.
  • Hyperlinks added to cards in order to better assist users in caring for their familiars. Additionally, restricted actions on cards have been removed until further notice.
  • Experience Point (XP) handout in Colosseum, during victories, has been adjusted.
  • More Gladiator Opponents in Colosseum will appear that are above your most experienced familiar's current level.
  • Notifications for wall comments on profiles improved (bug that causes duplicate alerts for the original commenter is being worked on)
  • Editing of original comments within a wall comment thread has been applied.
  • Order of wall comments within a thread has been adjusted to where the latest displays at the top.
  • Armory, which is currently restricted to Alchemists, allows equipping of items that will boost familiar's stats as long as the item remains equipped.
  • Gladius Shop, which is currently restricted to Alchemists, will now honor the restocking schedule implemented by all Markets.
  • Forums (Symposium), which is currently restricted to Alchemists, implements pagination, displays categories, subcategories, and threads alongside an updated design; user's specialized styling of posts supported, and tagline and signature support applied.

Thanks to a user reporting the bug via our Discord server and/or Contact Us form, I was able to resolve the "Sick" debuff that has occurred for some familiars as soon as I woke up and saw their message. Though such a debuff did not occur for any familiars that this was tested on (1 of which is now bravely testing out the Shelter, goodbye Calcifer), it has been completely removed from Colosseum's validation logic until further notice.
